President's Day may be weather winner

Warm days and nights are likely to continue through the weekend as moist winds flow inland from the Gulf of Mexico. But a cooldown is possible early next week.
Weather patterns are keeping cold air away from the area, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will remain 10 to 15 degrees above normal for this time of year for the next few days. South and southeast winds will be between 10 mph and 15 mph. Patchy fog is possible.
By the weekend, a mild cold front could approach the region, sparking a slight chance of showers and dropping the mercury to near normal readings, forecasters said.
Today, the high will top out near 77 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The low will be near 60. Temperatures normally range between about 67 degrees to about 45 degrees this time of year.
South winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
More mild weather is forecast for the weekend. The high each day will be in the mid 70s under mostly cloudy skies. The overnight lows will be near 60.
Monday, Presidents Day, a mild Norther is likely approach the region, forecasters said. A 20 percent chance of showers is possible ahead of the front. Forecasters said they are uncertain about the exact timing of the front, but it probably will arrive at night and temperatures will likely drop to near normal for a few days early next week.
The high Monday will be near 75 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, but the overnight low will dip to about 50 once the cool air arrives.
The high will be 67 degrees Tuesday under mostly sunny skies. The low will be 52.
